A CALL TO ACTION
Global challenges urgently require the global mobilization of a new generation of young leaders. We need young leaders committed to ethics of care, bridge-building and servant leadership, following the Ubuntu ethic.
INSPIRED BY SOCIAL JUSTICE
The legacy of great leaders like Nelson Mandela must be passed on to the new generations, inspiring them to commit to social justice, to uphold human rights and promote sustainable development.
INSPIRED BY UBUNTU PHILOSOPHY
BUILDING BRIDGES
"Building bridges: igniting youth action for unity in diversity“ is the inspirational motto of the Ubuntu United Nations edition. The Ubuntu United Nations initiative will promote these values and aims to achieve these objectives, for young people and with young people from all over the world.
ABOUT THE MAJOR WORLD ISSUES
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the roadmap for the mobilization of future leaders around the world. This new leadership will need to take further decisive steps towards the achievement of those goals
José Ramos-Horta,
Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and UUN Chair
“I preside over the Ubuntu United Nations with great pleasure and I know that young leaders from all over the world can mobilize themselves in order to build bridges and to foster peace and social justice. It’s time to give voice to young people!”
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa,
President of the Portuguese Republic
"The problems of poverty, inequality, growing asymmetries in acess to work, education and health (...) human rights, discrimination and an increase hate speech (...) require the mobilization of (...) a new generation of young leaders committed to this need of building bridges and act together, but in adversity”
